Report on Audit – Section 236 Multifamily Housing Program

This historic document reports the findings of a nationwide review of the Section 236 Multifamily Housing Program, performed by HUD’s Office of Audit. The audit was performed on a selective test basis and included a review of underwriting procedures, tenant eligibility and mortgage servicing, and the quality of completed constructions. The auditors visited 21 field offices and reviewed 62 projects originated under the program.
